We’re thrilled to announce that Discovery Travel has been awarded the Responsible Thailand Award 2025 in the category of Responsible Destination Management Company (DMC).
The award was presented by the Minister of Tourism & Sports during the World Travel Market (WTM) in London — recognising our ongoing commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism in Khao Lak and Phang Nga.
The Responsible Thailand Awards, organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to honour individuals and organisations that lead the way in responsible tourism. Categories include Responsible Animal Welfare, Responsible Community Tourism, Responsible Conservation, Responsible Destination Management Company, and Responsible Tourism Accommodation.
Recognised for Genuine Commitment
The judges shared that they were especially impressed by Discovery Travel’s authentic approach to sustainability — highlighting our hands-on work with the Phang Nga Tourism Association and leadership in establishing the Sustainable Khao Lak Network campaign.
They said it was clear that we are “genuinely committed, and not just ticking boxes to fulfil criteria.”
We were also recognised for our Travelife Certified status, our continued participation in Thailand Tourism Awards, and our on-the-ground environmental initiatives, including:
- Mangrove and coral restoration projects.
- Coastal and reef clean-up campaigns.
- Development of a hybrid longtail boat conversion project to reduce fuel use and carbon emissions.
For a small, locally based DMC, this makes the award even more meaningful. We’re proud to have been recognised ahead of many much larger and internationally known organisations — proof that genuine dedication and collaboration can make a real impact.
Building on Past Recognition
This is not our first national award. In 2023, Discovery Travel received the Outstanding Travel Itinerary: Thailand Tourism Silver Award, recognising our carefully designed programs that connect guests with local culture, nature, and communities.
