• Tree Planting with Purpose
• Ranger-Guided & Carbon Balanced

The trail includes some challenging sections — steep, sometimes slippery slopes where ropes are used for extra support, and river crossings that may get your feet wet, especially in the rainy season. The total trek takes around 2.5 hours through the rich rainforest of Khao Lampi–Hat Thai Mueang National Park.
Our expert National Park Rangers lead the way, sharing insights about this unique ecosystem, while our experienced local guides provide translation, guidance, and ensure your safety throughout. Their combined knowledge makes this both an exciting and well-supported adventure.

Khao Lak Jungle Tour Adventure
Back at the Ranger Station, relax and refuel with a delicious Thai lunch featuring bamboo-cooked rice, prepared using traditional jungle methods.
Later, you’ll help protect this precious environment by planting a native tree in a nearby reforestation zone. Each tree is GPS tagged, so you can return and visit “your” tree on future trips — a small action with a lasting legacy. This eco-friendly Khao Lak jungle tour is a meaningful way to connect with nature while balancing your carbon footprint.
The jungle itself is alive with sights and sounds — towering hardwood trees, tropical vines, the calls of unseen birds, and the crunch of your boots on the forest floor. Expect muddy patches, splashing through streams, and using ropes to scramble up and down jungle slopes. It’s challenging, but incredibly rewarding. With every step, you’ll feel further away from the tourist trail and closer to nature — making this one of the most authentic jungle experiences available in southern Thailand.
Carbon-Balanced Jungle Trek in Khao Lak
Sustainability is at the heart of this eco-friendly tour in Khao Lak. Based on average round-trip transportation from central hotels such as JW Marriott Khao Lak, this adventure produces approximately 20kg of CO₂e per guest. While distances vary depending on your exact pickup location, this gives a reliable estimate for calculating environmental impact.
To balance this, every guest plants a native Takien tree (Hopea odorata) or a similar local species. These trees absorb 9–15 kg of CO₂ per year and can store up to 1.7 metric tons of carbon over their lifetime. With a minimum of two participants per trip, we often offset more carbon than we produce — making this one of the most responsible travel experiences in southern Thailand.
Each tree is GPS-tagged, so guests can return to check on its growth — a personal and lasting connection to the forest you helped restore.

What should I wear and bring?
We recommend:

Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or hiking sandals
-
Lightweight clothing you don’t mind getting muddy or wet
- Change of clothes
-
Swimwear and a towel (for the waterfall swim)
-
Sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat
Will I get wet or muddy on this tour?
Yes — and that’s part of the adventure! Expect to get muddy, wet, and sweaty, especially during the rainy season. River crossings and rope-assisted climbs are part of the trek. We recommend bringing a dry bag for valuables, a change of clothes, and a small towel. You’re also welcome to leave personal items safely in the minivan while you’re on the trail.
Do I need to be an experienced hiker?
No previous hiking experience is needed, but a sense of adventure and basic fitness are important. Our guides and Rangers are there to help throughout the trek.
How is the tour low carbon or carbon-balanced?
We calculate our estimated CO₂ emissions based on round-trip transport distances from central Khao Lak. Each guest then plants a native tree that will absorb more CO₂ than the tour generates. Trees are GPS tagged, so you can return to see how yours is growing.
What kind of tree do we plant?
Usually, we plant Takien trees (Hopea odorata) or similar native species, provided by the National Park. These trees are known for their high carbon absorption and long lifespan.
Will I see wildlife during the trek?
This is a natural, wild area — so sightings can’t be guaranteed — but many guests spot birds, insects, animal tracks, and tropical plant life along the way. The focus is on the ecosystem rather than specific animals.
What happens if the weather is bad?
This tour operates in most weather conditions — in fact, trekking in the jungle in the rain can be an amazing experience, It is a rainforest afterall! The forest canopy often provides shelter from showers.
However, if the National Park Rangers assess any risk from extreme weather (such as storms, flooding, or unsafe trail conditions), we will adjust the itinerary or reschedule the tour to keep everyone safe. Your safety always comes first.
